Worldwide, the governments of developed countries are being run not for the benefit of the people but for special interests… Accountability is being removed; voting districts are gerrymandered into pointlessness, open records requests are challenged, and a revolving door exists between the government and large corporations.
While “important” people demand more privacy and obscurity, “common” people have their lives recorded and monitored, and protestors are tagged as troublemakers. People are starting to realize the extent of all of this, and I wonder what happened to this country while we slept?

The events which threaten our liberties and well-being do not happen in the glaring light of TV or the Internet, nor even in the Halls of Congress. They occur behind the scenes in little known decisions made by obscure people who toil out of the lime-light to craft significant systems which then burst on the scene fully-formed and impregnable.

CASE IN POINT: Privacy Advocates are calling for a moratorium on Pennsylvania’s school system’s “sweeping data-collection program,” which they say is part of the Federal Government’s goal of being able to track the development of every child “womb-to-tomb.”
How will they do this? Through data collection mandated by the U.S. Department of Education. Academic data has been recorded for years. Now there is a movement to create a database which can track a child through the educational system (including college and Grad. School) and into the work force….by name and Social Security number.
A Presidential Executive Order, in 2011, weakening the rules against releasing student data, regulated by the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act, along with Federal Stimulus Grants issued in 2010, has created a complex system of potential tracking that utilizes the Standardized Tests each student takes, along with a National ID number created for each student.
The next step would be to link it to the Department of Labor, with the addition of the last 5 digits of the student’s [Mandated] Social Security Number and there you have it!
“Common Core” is fueling this evolution, but it started with “No Child Left Behind,” which was a Bush-era Initiative and penalized school systems that did not test children, or indoctrinate them sufficiently. You DO know teachers teach to The Test! In our community they have bragged about an End of The Year ‘Camp’ where students prepare for The Test! They touted this on the Front Page of a section of our local Newspaper, with pictures and everything!
If parents knew! If parents cared! If parents understood, they would get their children out of that system as soon as possible! The only recourse, however, is Home School. Now do you see why the State System doesn’t like / want Home Schooling? It’s all about connecting the dots. The real effort is to keep the ‘dots’ from being exposed to the general population.
In the Forward of Neil Portman’s 1985 book: Amusing Ourselves To Death, he compared Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World with George Orwell’s 1984: “What Orwell feared were those who would ban books. What Huxley feared was that there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one. Orwell feared those who would deprive us of information. Huxley feared those who would give us so much that we would be reduced to passivity and egotism. Orwell feared that the truth would be concealed from us. Huxley feared the truth would be drowned in a sea of irrelevance. Orwell feared we would become a captive culture. Huxley feared we would become a trivial culture, preoccupied with some equivalent of the feelies, the orgy porgy, and the centrifugal bumble puppy.”
You may not know what a ‘bumble puppy’ really is, but most of us know what it means. It means a preoccupation with Facebook, Tweets and ‘Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel,’ while we let the Government educate [indoctrinate] our children and ignore the reality that the world we live in is being transformed.
How do we protect our children, unless we understand the source of the threat?
